He specialized in Psychiatry at the Hospital Clínic of Barcelona, where he currently works as a predoctoral researcher in different areas including psychosis, addictive and mood disorders.
He is currently supporting the development and future implementation of clinical trials for research with psychedelic substances for the treatment of depression. He has clinical experience in the use of esketamine and ketamine for the treatment of treatment-resistant depressive disorders. He is a researcher at the August Pi i Sunyer Biomedical Research Institute (IDIBAPS) in the Bipolar and Depressive Disorders Program at the Hospital Clínic de Barcelona. Professor Eduard Vieta is head of the Psychiatry and Psychology Service at Hospital Clínic de Barcelona, leads the Bipolar Disorders group, consolidated at IDIBAPS and is scientific director of the Center for Biomedical Research in Mental Health Network (CIBERSAM).
Professor Vieta has published numerous articles, more than 370 book chapters and 32 books.
